I was born in 1958 in beautiful Lisbon, Portugal. From there, I brought a deep connection to the intense colors and the special light of the south to Germany. For a long time now, I have lived and worked as a freelance artist in relaxed Niedermörsbach in the Westerwald region (RLP). On my artistic journey, I have developed a signature that is entirely my own, where I simply let the boundaries between classical painting and modern photography blur – just as I feel like it!
A true highlight for me was the opening of my own studio in 1997: the "Kunststall" in Cologne-Fühlingen. That was not just my workplace, but a true place of encounter, inspiration, and good conversation. Many of my works were created there, in long, exciting processes of layering, textures, and deliberate light accents.
What drives me? Clearly: human beings and nature. Often I reduce them to the essentials – forms and contours. My photos are not mere reflections of reality; through technical experiments and digital processing, they get their very own painterly soul. And in my paintings? I love the haptic depth created by using a wide variety of materials and pigments. You just have to want to touch them!
Of course, I am not only in the studio, but firmly rooted in the regional art scene, for example with great joy in the Kunstforum Westerwald e.V. I enjoy showing my paintings in solo and group exhibitions, and I am incredibly happy that they have found a home in private and public collections.
